Hi!
I am a very new learner of Latin. I am currently using Latina per Illustrate and have finished lesson 4. I find Latin a bit easier than Classical Greek as there are more cognates (that’s just because the textbook uses simple vocabulary)
My goal is to be able to, one day, read Medieval Latin text.
I plan to, after finishing both books in this series, I will move on to Ceasar’s Gallic War.
I am currently in possession of a French translation, with Latin text facing French text of the Gesta Francorum.
Despite having an extremely weak Latin foundation, I can notice certain differences in style between Ceasar and this medieval little “rustic” text.
I wonder if Gesta Francorum is a suitable text for a beginner or an intermediate?
