Hello everyone. Χαίρετε πάντες.
My name is Luciano and I am an Ancient Greek Professor at the National University of South, Bahia Blanca, Argentina. I am Argentinian but my last name is Italian, Sabattini.
Since 2007 I have been teaching and learning different languages, but Ancient Greek is my real passion. I always like to know more about teaching methods, to improve them, and I am obsessed with the dilemma of Ancient Greek pronunciation.
I am currently writing my PhD thesis on Philosophy, dealing wiith the philosophical configuration of otherness in Sophocles’ Trojan plays (Ajax, Electra and Philoctetes).
Now we and the colleagues who work with me at the university are exploring an “innovating” method (at least for the still very conservative standards of my country): teaching grammar the most traditional way but combining it with colloquial expressions taken from classical authors. The results now were quite interesting. Some students wrote e-mails to me using some Ancient Greek -which are always good news.
I am very grateful for being accepted here and I hope to help in whatever you need -and get help whenever I need, too.
ἔρρωσθε!
