χαίρετε! I majored in philosophy and political science during undergrad, and I’m planning on going back to grad school for the history of ancient philosophy. I’m particularly interested in the figure of Socrates through the lens of Plato, Xenophon, and Aristophanes. I think I mostly agree with the line of thought pursued by Vlastos and Nehamas about the Socratic project.
Right now, I’ve just been really interested in researching Greek paleography and papyrology, and I’m hoping to make a replica of a bookroll that is accurate to the time period Plato wrote, something that could plausibly be a facsimile had any of his papyri survived. Luckily, the Daphni papyri gets pretty close to the time Plato lived, so there’s something to work with.
