Introduction and a Question

Hello everyone!

I’m Berk from Turkey. An undergrad student in physics department. Been doing freelance industrial rope access since 2022. I am also a search and rescue volunteer since that time.

I have always been into languages one way or another and learned English in a young age by simply trying to make friends on my dad’s facebook account and on online video games I played. Never figured out the disciplined way to teach myself things. Figured this ability was one of the core pillars of what makes a good life so I decided to teach myself Latin in an attempt to practice it.

I have been studying Latin (almost) everyday since February this year, on Lingua Latina per se Illustrata, by Hans Orberg. I find this source extremely engaging and effective. Along with the, auxilary books like exercises and grammatic sources it has, it feels like every language should be learned this way.
With this, I’d like to ask the people of this forum who are familiar with this resource whether there is one like it in its essence for other languages.

Thank You

Welcome to Texkit! The so-called natural method is used for many modern languages. Beside Latin, it has been applied to Ancient Greek too.

Welcome here!

I was in your country in 2022 for three months. I loved the museums and archaeological sites–I didn’t make it to as many as I would have liked, but you have a lot of fascinating history and lots of fodder for language and historical studies!

There is a version of LLPSI for Greek, though not as developed. You can find threads about it in the Koine greek sub-section of the forum. I thought I had it bookmarked but I’ve lost that now so I’ll have to go find it again.
