okay many of the Gods and Goddesses ahve been taken. Let’s open it up to more characters. heroes, titans, etc…
Ok…I’m finally weighing in…better late than never…
I’d have to be Athena, which is weird, because I’m a guy, but she was one bad motor-scooter. I’ve been reading the Odyssey and she sends so many barbs to Telemachus in her speaches to him I love it.
Smart, Beautiful, and carries a bada$$ spear…what’s not to like??
I’m a bit late too but:
Dionysos - yeah, but what about the headaches?
Zeus - yeah, but what about the headaches?
Poseidon - just too wet.
Hades - dude, cheer up.
Hermes - just a messenger, no real influence, an assisant.
Athena - carrying a cut off head around…
So, I think i’ll have to go for Hercules, under the new regulations I believe this to be allowed. Think about it: you get to travel the world, meet interesting people/monsters (kill them), again plenty of chicks (50 (!) in one night if I’m not mistaken) and all you have to do is take reasonable care when the wife gives you clothes for christmas.

How 'bout Perseus. He got to fly around, see exciting places, kill monsters, and let’s not forget that bottomless magic wallet!
I see no one has picked Aphrodite 
How about Vulcan. Vulcan is the Ur-geek. He just sits under the mountain and makes stuff. Plus he has a hot wife. What a life.

The hot wife wasn’t enough either. He also had all those mechanical golden handmaidens… 
That’s because the question was “who would you be?” Rather than “who would you be with?”
Since my favorite of the Greek/Roman deities is Athena/Minerva, that’s whom I’d have to go with. After all, she’s extremely intelligent, skilled with her hands in the crafts (an excellent weaver!), and ruthless when it comes to meting out punishments (look what she did to Arachne).
Just as a side note, I think it’d be cool to open up the category to characters from poetry, too (like people from Ovid’s Metamorphoses …) 
Well, I’d be Artemis… because I’m an archer. But I’d also like to be Athena… or Nemesis!!!
