How do you schedule your online learning sessions with Attic Greek?

Ok. The last time I studied and read my Attic Greek resource was literally back in Feb. 2018. Since then I’ve gotten buried in a rewrite of my story, which I’m going to be putting up on Patreon within 2 weeks time, and other commitments. And the next time I finally got time was…five hours ago.

When I’ve almost forgotten everything and is forced to start from the beginning.

How do you folks do the scheduling on your part? I…I’m just stumped because I my learning how to Attic got derailed twice already in…three years. Lots of months in between. And all without meaning to.

You simply have to set aside a short time say 15 mins a day and start again. If you cannot commit to 15 mins everyday maybe you need to think about whether you really want to learn Greek. It’s like learning everything you have to do a small amount every day.

Your motives for learning Greek need to be thought out too. It should be something enjoyable and if it isn’t you need to think about whether you really want to learn.

I recommend keep the first of Seneca’s epistles at hand to remind you that we have in fact plenty of time for things :

Continue to act thus, my dear Lucilius—set yourself free for your own sake; gather and save your time, which till lately has been forced from you, or filched away, or has merely slipped from your hands. Make yourself believe the truth of my words,—that certain moments are torn from us, that some are gently removed, and that others glide beyond our reach. The most disgraceful kind of loss, however, is that due to carelessness. Furthermore, if you will pay close heed to the problem, you will find that the largest portion of our life passes while we are doing ill, a goodly share while we are doing nothing, and the whole while we are doing that which is not to the purpose. What man can you show me who places any value on his time, who reckons the worth of each day, who understands that he is dying daily? For we are mistaken when we look forward to death; the major portion of death has already passed. Whatever years lie behind us are in death’s hands.

I see.

Thanks for the advice.
