Hi. I’m a new user, making my obligatory first post. I’m a philosophy PhD looking to deepen my knowledge of Latin. I’ve some knowledge of the language - and of Greek - but now that I’ve completed my program I’ve decided to devote some time to bringing my Latin up to where I want it to be. I look forward to many future conversations here. ![]()
Welcome Seanchaidh!
What are the authors you are more interested in?
Hi Shenoute. Personally, Caesar, Tacitus, Suetonius, Livy, Cicero and perhaps also Virgil. Far less so the Latin poets and dramatists. Professionally, it would be useful for me to develop my talents with Early Modern European Latin with a focus on philosophical works. There may be some opportunities for translation at some point.
Very nice. I hope you’ll find the forum a useful resource for your work on Latin!
Thanks!
