hey guys, i'm new!

hey guys! i’ve been reading these boards for the past few weeks and i’m continually surprised by the sense of community found here. awesome!

a little bit about me: i’m in my second semester of greek and so far i love it but sometimes it’s ridiculously frustrating. next year i’ll be continuing on with greek and starting latin (which i’m super excited for). i know that my school uses wheelock’s.

that being said, i’m going to try to teach myself latin before school starts, and i’m thinking i’ll do so with lingua latina–a method that sounds so fun to me.

anyway, thought i’d introduce myself since i’m sure i’ll be stopping by with plenty of questions in the futre. happy studying!

Welcome aboard! In contrast to you, I’ve done a few semesters of Latin and am now just beginning Greek. Ridiculously frustrating is an apt description so far! Also, I started with Wheelock and am just now starting Lingua Latina. I think it will be very helpful to have worked through LL before Wheelock, because by then you’ll be cementing concepts that you’ve already put into practice. Good luck!

I’d definitely recommend Lingua Latina. You learn without realising your learning, and the stories are amusing and interesting -an important part of learning any language, if the content is funny, you’re less likely to get into a ‘slump’.
