Having finished Familia Romana. I proceeded to the Lingua Latina Caesar, which I had trouble I with, so was therefore quit and read Sermones Romani. I was then advised to continue to Roma Aeterna which I have been reading currently. I zoomed through chapters one to three in several days with no vocabulary issues, but when I got to the forth chapter I have been ground down through grammar. I have been trying do the the exercises but it took too long, so therefore I decided to do Pensum B and C by finding the answer in the text and pointing to it in the text. Please tell me how I can continue successfully.

If you find Roma Aeterna too challenging, which I can totally understand since it is much more difficult than Familia Romana, I recommend looking for some easier reading material (Fabulae Syrae, Epitome Historiae Sacrae, Fabulae Divales, Ritchie’s Fabulae Faciles) as well as rereading Familia Romana several times to really solidify what you learned. If you haven’t done so already you might also want to get Ørberg’s recordings of Familia Romana and listen to those repeatedly. Afterwards you should be well-prepared for Roma Aeterna.

When I get stuck in some text, I always back up into something easier for awhile until I master that. And then I move back into it again.
