Help understanding passage from Heereboord's Logica.

I have preparing a translation of some chapters on definition from Heereboord’s Logica (1651) . See this page: https://books.google.com/books?id=KNsUAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA196#v=onepage&q&f=false.
This has stumped me: “deniquè nemo, ordinatè rem aliquam per notiones secundas digesserit, aut tractaverit, nisi earum naturas, praecognoverit.” In context, I think the intent is something like: ‘Unless he already has had insight into its [essential] nature, no one can grasp or treat any thing in a [logical and] systematic way by [considering] only secondary [, that is, not-essential,] concepts.’ However, I cannot quite convince myself that my reading is workable. I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

I think you ready it correctly.

Thank you!
