Hi!
I am kind of an independent student, not in university or part of any educational system, at least not at the moment. The past few years I picked up on a self quest to look into subjects I’ve always wanted to including psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and some theology. What lead me to this site/forum was a quote I found referenced in my compact Oxford Dictionary, looking up the word discipline. It was from a 16th century poet named Alexander Barclay, which I couldn’t find the exact origin of the quote, but it said: “If thou have in greke had all thy discipline, to dispute in latin what needeth thee to seeke.” I then simply googled this quote and it pulled up this site, which interested me enough to make an account, and possibly further my acquisition of Latin and Greek. I spent a couple of years trying to write a blog, where I did a lot of cross lingual encoding, mostly using Latin and French, but I still only consider myself fluent in one language, English. I do have some college credit in Spanish, but would love to further my delve into any other language, especially Latin and Greek. I am happy and honored to be here, and hope to gain as much out of this site as I can.
Thank you!
