Hello everyone!
My name is Louise. I’m a law student living in Germany, though I won’t be situated there for much longer, since I will move to London in a few weeks- so excited!
Since I currently have a little more free time on my hands than usually, I have decided to study classical Greek, because apparently, I am simply incapable of relaxing and enjoying some time off like a normal human being.
I have always enjoyed languages and studied several of them during my high school career: Having grown up in Germany with an English-speaking parent, I speak both German and English fluently. I also studied French in school- I’d rate my ability to actually speak it as passable at best, but I read it quite well. My Latin, acquired during my last two years of high school, is abysmal, but truth be told, Latin and I never got along too well. I have also been studying Mandarin for the past two years- Mandarin has always been a love affair of mine, I adore the language and since it’s beneficial for my studies (I plan to focus on international law from next year on) I study it quite intensively. Greek, now, is a new project. My goal is to one day be able to read Plato’s works on statesmanship in the Greek original, being a law student, that is very interesting material to me.
Great to meet you all!
Luise
