Greetings!

Hello! I have been wanting to learn ancient Greek for some time, but figured I’d need to go back to university. Well, now I’m in my fifties and have decided I’m just going to do it.

I’ve got the book, “Homeric Greek, A Book for Beginners,” by Clyde Pharr; I’ve got a notebook and a pencil; and I’ve also found what seems a supplemental web site that I know I can’t link to because I’m a newcomer here.

I’m very happy to be learning, and hoping to be reading Hesiod and the Homeric Hymns, as well as The Iliad and Odyssey, all in the epic Greek.

Thanks, I’m so glad to have found Textkit!

Welcome to Texktit!

There is a key for Pharr here. You may also find this discussion that mentions the book interesting: Attic or Homeric first

Thank you for the references and the welcome, too!
