Hi everyone!
I am very new to Classical Greek. I have just started to study the very first chapter of Athenaze. I am very happy to be a part of a thriving community dedicating to Greek and Latin.
My personal motivation to learn Greek is to understand the history of Byzantine Empire. I know that medieval Greek can be very different from Classical Greek but I want to start somewhere.
Prior to self-study Greek, I have learnt Classical Chinese (古代漢語) for more than 10 years and have achieved an intermediate-advance level. I really like to look at Greek from a comparative perspective to see similarity and contrast between these two classical languages.
