Hey everyone, I am learning Greek right now through the textbook Athenaze. However, I am very interested in learning Latin as well. What is everyone’s experience for the crossover from Latin to Greek? As well, I was wondering how advanced everyone thinks one should be in Greek, before beginning Latin? Thanks for the advice!!

Actually it doesn’t really matter how advanced you are in one language before you start the next. Experience in one will definitely help with learning another though.
Many say Latin is actually easier than Greek. It has more cognates to the English language than Greek does, and, of course, it uses the same alphabet.
I tried starting on Greek by myself last summer but I didn’t get very far, and school started, so I didn’t have any spare time to study it. I will probably start up on it again once I’m on summer vacation and I want to study German as well.
