Would anyone think that Fux’s Gradus ad Parnassus would be a good choice? I know that it is post-classical, but it gives a very different insight into Latin (and it’s good for music students). What does anyone else think?
in terms of verse composition it would surely rank as the fourth best gradus, but it is rightly heralded as excellent for the copious musical elements it contains. i have never seen a cheap copy for sale, nearing as it surely is 300th birthday.

I would probably discur and say the third best, although the copious musical elements throughout are maintained and would surely be beneficial to any latin student interested in music. The verse is not classical yet beneficial to those in our society who actually want to hear some verse rather than merely read it.
