Glad to be here!

Salvete!

I’m so glad to be here. It’s about 7 months since I started learning Latin by myself.

First I ran through three textbooks written in my mother tongue, Japanese, on grammar. I ran, because I was so itching to read primary text. After finishing “Familia Romana” by Orberg, I finally tackled with Ovid, Cicero, and some Medieval works, only to find I was not quite ready.

So, “festina lente” ut aiunt, I decided to go through yet another grammatical textbook, this time “Wheelock’s Latin,” which is often mentioned to be comprehensive, to improve my foundation, slowly, this time.

I somehow continue reading, or trying to read, primaries as well, because I just can’t help it. As I barely started reading verses metrically, I’m still helpless, but is it fun.

As I mentioned above, English is not my native language. I am here to learn and share, and hopefully some day, help others. If you find any of my expressions offensive, I am really sorry, though I didn’t mean it. Please ignore it, or better, if you correct me, I’d be more than happy to fix it and learn English as well. Thank you for your patience.
