G'day

Hi all, I’ve been lurking profitably for months, and it’s good to finally be here actively. I’m self-teaching Greek from my husband’s old theological textbooks and supplementing them with more up-to-date books (inc CGCG) and online resources. My interest is mainly in gaining a fresher understanding of the New Testament, but I find I’m developing a hankering for the classics as well. I’ve just ordered Athenaze book 1, and looking forward to diving in to that.
I look forward to seeing you all around.

And welcome. More than one person has been lured into Classics via a desire for a better understanding of the NT, so you’re in a good starting place. Discovering there is a big wide world of ancient Greek out there and then exploring was a wonderful experience for me, and I’m sure will be for you as well. As an added benefit, people who start with Attic Greek (as opposed to a textbook which teaches you to decode the NT), never have trouble reading their NT once they get to that point…

Thanks Barry. That’s encouraging.

Welcome, Prisca7of9.

Thanks. Sorry I missed your post earlier. Still finding my way around …
