(p.138, top) Discipuli magistro tabulas suas dant. Is tabulam cuiusque pueri in manus sumit litterasque eorum aspicit.
A bit puzzled by the genitive masc. plural “eorum”. I assume it refers back to the “discipuli” in the first sentence, but not sure.
Yes, it refers to discipulī.
Have you fully understood “cuiusque pueri”. If not that might have been confusing you when you read " litterasque eorum aspicit".
Thanks for querying that. I did do a double take when I saw pueri and eorum, but since cuiusque was definitely genitive singular I decided pueri couldn’t be anything but genitive singular.
