Hello,
I have, unfortunately, not learned any Ancient Greek yet am writing some fiction set in a world that is rooted in Ancient Greek culture. Thus, whenever I use a proper noun I would prefer to use the latinized form of the correct Ancient Greek word. This can be trivial using wiktionary (I hope I am not stepping on a landmine when I say that). But I have a found a handful of trickier cases that come up when I need to translate something that would be a proper noun in my world but never happened, i.e., “the year of Alexander.”
Is this is the sort of thing I could ask on these forums? If not that’s understandable, but what should I do instead?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciate!
Thanks,
Endozen
