Does anyone know of any example in any part of Greek literature where a person said “goodbye” or “farewell” for the night, and it was unambiguously clear from the circumstance that the person was either retiring to go to sleep, or departing in order to return home at night?
For “good night,” supposedly, the set phrases were ὑγίαινε or χαῖρε, however, I haven’t found any attested examples that demonstrate this.
