error in Wheelock Latin Workbook?

The answer given for an English to Latin tranlation: Illo genere scientiae non iuvabamur/iuti sumus.

Should it not be "illa’ since scientia is feminine?

Ask yourself what genere is doing, and what is the case of scientiae. What would Illa genere scientiae mean?

Thanks mwh. I see my mistake. Illo is correct because genere is neuter and scientiae is genitive.
