Downloadable Greek Dictionary

Are there any downloadable Greek dictionaries that are similar to Words? I am not having any luck searching the outside links of interest forum.

Diogenes has both Greek and Latin dictionaries in it, and will do parsing. Ignore the “corpus” field and just stick with “Morphological analysis and search.” It does require unicode for the Greek, though, not betacode.

Thanks. Since I have posted, I have found Kalos http://www.kalos-software.com/index.php and Wordbase http://greek.kihlman.eu/. I prefer Kalos. I will have to fiddle with Diogenes. I cannot get it to access the Greek Dictionary.

Annis,

With Diogenes, I have a “Morphological Search” tab but I cannot figure out how to input Greek letters. Do I need to change the font when I switch back and forth between Latin and GReek?

We have several sticky posts in the first Greek board explaining how to deal with fonts and Unicode. Diogenes expects Unicode, but how to enter that will depend on your operating system.

Thanks. Followed the directions. I have always used symbol in Word for Greek. I ignored the sticky because I did not think switching back and forth so seamlessly possible. I always wondered why there were so many posts about Greek fonts and Unicode. Now I know.
