The only lexicon I currently have is Cassell’s, which I do like; however I would now like an Ecclesiastical lexicon. Someone I know has recommended: Dictionary of Ecclesiastical Latin by Leo Stelten. Is it a good one?
Ok, well, too late. I’m going to order it.
Well, I’ve got it now and I can say that it is decent, however it is very concise, lacking any etymology or apparatus. Since then I’ve found Souter’s Glossary of Later Latin, Oxford, 1949, and I think it to be superior.
Hi, a good one is the Mediae Latinitatis Lexicon Minus by J. F. Niermeyer. It’s a latin french/english dictinary. And the Ecclesiastical Medieval and Neo-Latin Sentences by Richard Upsher Smith may help you too.
Does Souter’s have macrons?
