De consolatione philosophiae

Hi,

I plan to make a voice recording of the De consolatione philosophiae for Librivox. Since I need to read from a public domain text, would you recommend one of these three editions over the others? Maybe the most recent (Weinberg)? Or maybe you know other sources I could use. Thanks!

Peiper
Volpi
Weinberg

Great news

A Companion to Boethius in the Middle Ages (2012) does not comment on Peiper’s edition but writes “A reliable and long-used edition of the Latin text (…)” about Weinberger.

Thank you, Sir!

Si hoc feceris, utique optime de me mereberis. Omnes recitationes quas fecisti valde me delectaverunt.

Gratias ob dulcissima verba!

De Consolatione Philosophiae is available at Librivox.

Thank you very much for this! I’ve much enjoyed your other recordings, especially the Confessions. This one is particularly welcome, as the Consolatio is one of my favorite books (I’ve recently begun reading the commentary on it by Dionysius Cartusianius!).

I am much in your debt.

Thank you for letting me know!
