Continuing my greek studies

I have taken a semester in Ancient Greek I and unfortunately my Ancient Greek II class was just cancelled. They told me that there was an insufficient amount of registered students.

Therefore in the meantime, I want to be able to continue my greek studies on my own and try and attend another Greek class next semester.
How can I set a study/reading schedule for myself? Is there any way of knowing on a general level what a Greek level I student should know and be able to do? How about a Greek level II student? I want to design coursework for myself but do not know how to go about doing that. Can anyone help?

thanks,
Dimitri

Plato’s Apology is generally the first major work students translate in Greek. If you are able to do this, you are at an intermediate level. If you really want to see where you are, take the National Greek Exam which will provide a good approximation of your proficiency. With only a semester of Ancient Greek, I would probably wait to translate Plato, buy an actual copy of Smyth’s Grammar, and use a beginner’s level textbook with excerpts of text to translate, but I cannot precisely judge how advanced you are with the information you provided.
