Cicero on war from Wheelock

Hi
I am working with the sentece: Quaedam offica sunt…

I think quadem is a indefinit pronoun, but I see is as feminine.

Why feminine ?

Best wishes

“quaedam” is a form of the indefinite pronoun quidam, quaedam, quoddam.

It can be feminine nominative singular, neuter nominative plural or neuter nominative plural. Since it agrees with “officia” (from officium, officii n.) in this sentence, you know it must be neuter plural. Now you have to figure out if it’s in the nominative case or the accusative case.
