Check my terrible Latin, δέομαι.

I’m attaching a floating text message to an object in Second Life. I want it to say, “touch to get a notecard.” My version currently: continge ut chartam recipas. Workable or ghastly solecism?

Wait till I ask you to verify the motto for my heavy-metal band that’s also a magickal religious order that I’ll need to get a tattoo of.

“recipio” is a third-io verb, so your message should read, “continge ut chartam recipias.”

D’oh!

Thank you.

I think you could use the uncompounded ‘capio’ with the same sense and give it some alliteration for style:

continge ut chartam capias. :sunglasses:

Ahh… very Latin, and it satisfies my own susceptibility to alliteration.
