A team of 5 amazing volunteers and I are building a syntax database for Ancient Greek Syntax (eventually this database will include a complete morphology, tagged vocabulary, style examples, etc for both Latin & Greek).
I write to see if there is any one out there who would be willing to contribute even 30 minutes a week of Greek data entry for this project? (EDIT: ALL COPY/PASTE at this point!). My hope is that this suit of resources will become one of the most complete academic and online resources for study of the classics.
This project is in honor of Dr. Walter Roberts, an astounding classicist and pedagogue, who passed away this year unexpectedly. Walter was a devoted, generous, inimitable teacher and friend. I hope to have some of these resources completed before the commemoration of his life in the summer of 2022.
I am not very confident with my Greek typing as I am quite new to Greek and learning accent marks etc. If however down the track you need any help with building a Latin database please feel free to PM me or contact me here as I would be very happy to help with that.
Thank you for your interest!! The Greek data entry is all copy paste at this point, but I understand why you might be hesitant. If you’re interested in working on the Latin database, I would be happy to chat more about starting that database in parallel. I have been building both the Greek & Latin databases by myself for some time, and while the priority is to finish the Greek database, it is best to snap up willing collaborators when the moment presents itself
