Greetings! I would like to resurrect and double an old idea of mine: translating a comic book not only into Latin but now also into Greek. This is the candidate:
Being just an amateur and given my level of competence, I’d never dare to do this on my own. With your help, this work will be possible and constitute an exciting learning opportunity (and a humbling experience for my ego, I suspect ). I’ll post my translations in the Composition Board and you’ll kindly correct and/or improve them, won’t you? Thanks!
Then, with the Latin and Greek texts, I’ll create new comic pages, which will be made available under the Creative Common Attribution, according to Textkit’s policy. Comments?
Comics are an excellent way to learn a language and Ben Hur would fit the bill in that the is unlikely to be any words that are not found in Greek.
There are some interesting history pages that would also work such as High Lights of History http://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=58434 that might be worth a look.
I would certainly like to help with Ben Hur or any other - at leas to the extent I am able.
All,
Something I have been thinking about since I saw the translated pages of Ben Hur on another web site:
I know bedwere thinks that the cost of publishing the translated comic may be high and therefore something he may not want to bear himself.
Do y’all think that, as individuals collectively, we could have it published?
By that I mean, if we contributed X amount of dollars per person to publish it, each one of us would receive a copy, the comic would be printed, it could be sold publicly, and the translator would receive profits for his efforts.
I was unaware of that but I have ordered books printed by Lulu.
I was just trying to get the Latin community here to support your efforts along with ‘spreading the word’ and help you get paid for your efforts.
Either way, I would love to have a few copies.
Let me know if I can help you.
Thanks,
dlb

Although you can read the stories for free on archive.org and basically do whatever you want with them, as requested, I prepared also the printed editions on Lulu.com:
