Beginning Latin

Hello All,

I am going to start learning Latin and was wondering what would be the best way to do it. I am using the D’Ooge book and the AB grammar; is there like a certain way the books must be used, or should I just work through the D’Ooge book and then move on to the AB Grammar book ?
Any help is appriciated.

I learned Latin through LINGVA LATINA, which I recommend very, very highly. I cannot comment on D’Ooge.

I too recommend Lingua Latina http://www.pullins.com/txt/LinguaLatina.htm, coupled with the Dowling method http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~wcd/Latin.htm. It’s the best!

Hey, Luke, did you learn latin through LL or did you learn to ‘read’ through LL?

Lots of others here are actually recommending D’Ooge and so am I, as I’m using it to learn Latin myself

Â¡Â¿Y no has estudiado?! Tsk tsk. Bueno, mejor me quedo callado, pues yo tampoco he estado estudiando el latÃn como se debe, pero es que me distraigo muy fÃ¡cilmente con la televisiÃ³n.
