Attic Greek Textbook

Are any of the Textbooks on Textkit.com ATTIC Greek? I know many are New Testament Greek but I need to learn Attic Greek?

You want:

First Greek Book, John Williams White

Or, if you’re nuts:

A First Greek Course, Sir William Smith

(I think all of the grammars are Attic too.)

Pharr is Homeric Greek Much Earlier than Attic proper, and different due to the poetic style.

All the “Koine” or New Testament Grammars are marked as such. Everything else here I think is Attic.

Have fun! - If your just out for Attic then Go with the two Eureka Mentioned, but you may think about working through Pharr first and then Attic if there’s no hurry.

Why the prerequisite of being nuts?

That book looks dry and harsh, but I could be wrong.

W.S. A First Greek Course isn’t that bad, I’ve been using it.

Well, I wouldn’t call it dry or harsh, but it does seem to move very quickly. It would be very intense for someone who hasn’t already studied Latin, or some similar highly inflecting language. It’d make excellent review, however, I think.

Yeah I guess you’re right, Annis. As a beginner all I’m doing right now with it is doing the exercises and studying them 'til my heart’s content.
