Again, I’d be grateful if someone would check these English to Greek translations.

  1. While Ariadne is calling, the god Dionysus looks from heaven toward earth; then he sees Ariadne and loves her.
    ἐν ᾧ ἡ Ἀριάδνη καλεῖ, ὁ θεὸς ὁ Διόνυσος βλέπει ἀπὸ τοῦ οὐρανοὺ πρὸς τὴν γήν· ἔπειτα τὴν Ἀριάδνην ὁρᾷ καὶ φιλεῖ.
  2. So he flies from heaven to earth. And when he arrives at the island, he approaches her and says, “Ariadne, don’t be afraid. For I, Dionysus, am here. I love you and want to save you. Come with me to heaven.”
    πέτεται οὖν ἀπὸ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πρὸς τὴν γήν. ἐπεὶ δὲ ἀφικνεῖται εἰς τὴν νῆσον, προσχωρεῖ αὐτῇ καὶ λέγει "μὴ φοβοῦ. ἐγὼ γάρ, Διόνυσος, πάρειμι. φιλῶ σε καὶ βοὺλομαί σε σῴζειν. ἐλθὲ σύν μοι εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν.”
  3. So Ariadne rejoices and goes to him.
    ἡ οὖν Ἀριάδνη χαίρει καὶ ἔρχεται πρὸς αὐτόν.
  4. Then Dionysus carries her up to heaven; and Ariadne becomes a goddess and stays forever in heaven.
    ἔπειτε ὁ Διόνυσος ἀναφέρει αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν οὐρανον· καὶ ἡ Ἀριάδνη γίγνεται θεὰ καὶ μένει εἰσαεὶ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ.

#4 - the usual Attic form is επειτα. επειτε is Ionic.

γῆν rather than γήν. οὐρανοῦ for οὐρανοὺ. The grave here is probably just a typo: βοὺλομαί

Oops, not sure how that happened. I remember looking in LSJ, so maybe I saw the Ionic and it got stuck in my brain. Thanks for the corrective, Bill.

Aaarrrgghhh, these accents are going to do me in. I seem stubbornly resistant to remembering the rules, despite constant drilling. And yes, I suspect the typo was just that (although I may be just being kind to myself).
