Does anyone know what the above word means ? I am guessing it is something to do with food from the context :-
femina assaturam radicula ornat.
Thanks in advance.

assare: to roast, broil. Hence assatura=about to roast, broil (f.)
Mulciber, did you use the Perseus morphological analyzer? That was my first thought, too, since the future participle makes the stem difficult to decipher.
Thanks guys. My dictionaries don’t list asso, assare. Which dictionary do you use ?
Perseus’ Word Search (Latin and English) is an online version of the Lewis and Short, I believe.
An even more incredible tool is the Perseus Word Study Tool, which will take a word in its given form (such as assatura) and decipher its stem and all form-related information.
It actually comes from the word assus thought to be related to areo (arsus?) to be dry.

I searched for “asso” at Perseus. But I didn’t need the morphology tool because it’s obvious what the stem must be as verb is a completely regular 1st conj.
That’s a great resource. Thanks again guys.
