I’m twenty-two years old, from the United Kingdom and am learning both Latin and Greek, along with a host of modern languages, out of a reverence for the literature which forms my intellectual and cultural heritage, along with what I can learn from it morally. I have been in the position of learning these languages, with varying degrees of commitment, for many years now and still find myself in a position where I can’t read even the simplest of Latin classics with nearly the same ease as I can the classical literature of - say - France or Germany, and so I intend to increase the level of my commitment over the coming months and - perhaps - years.
