Adverbs of time

I’ve been looking for references to the correct uses of nondum, donec and iam but couldn’t find much.

Do this following usage look correct ?:

Nondum venierunt
They haven’t arrived yet

Iam abiit
He has already left

Incepturus sunt
They’re about to start

Donec abiit
Unit he leaves

Or should I be using the subjunctive with some of these?

Also, I could not find any reference to the English adverb just, as in He just arrived.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

Nondum venierunt

venerunt? typo?

Otherwise. it seems OK.

Also, I could not find any reference to the English adverb just, as in He just arrived.

Often “modo” is used.
Modo advenit.

Magister,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I’ve read about donec but I’ve seen the use of usque ad for until as well.

Any idea of the difference?

If usque ad can indeed be used to render until, should it include id with a verb?

I ask this because French and Spanish use this:

Hasta lo que llegue
Jusqu’Ã ce que j’arrive

Until I arrive

Look forward to hearing from you.
