I can't help but find the emphasis on the dirty poems a bit tiresome. Yes, it's fun Catullus and some other poets wrote about subjects we don't find 'poetic' anymore, but still....
My copy of the Quinn edition we used in the freshman Catullus course is scribbled with glosses for the paedico etc words which the professor shared gleefully, while half the class was cringeing.
Give me Cat 76, please.
