Superlatives, μεν...δε

Post by Andriko » Fri Mar 15, 2019 11:51 pm

Wasn't sure if this should go here or the composition board (this is hardly a composition!). Anyway, instead of sleeping I am trying to construct a simple phrase, using superlative, particles, and omitting the 'to be' verb and not sure if I have understood things right.

For the adjectives, do I have the predicate position correct, or would I be better adding extra articles, and have I formed the superlative forms properly, or, as I suspect, have I picked the wrong stem from the dictionary? Are there verbs/participles that might look more elegantly greek?

ἡ μὲν νῦξ σκοτεινοτάτη,
οἱ δ' ἀστρὲς φωτεινότατοι.

If what I am trying to say is not clear, then that would be just embaressing, and I will clearly need to review 'Attic Greek for Dummies'.
