"In the middle of the day" in Latin

Post by Banana tree »

I want to translate "in the middle of the day" to Latin but I don't know how I should translate in. Is it the same as it is with things, like on the boat, in schapa?

Aestus erat, mediam exegerat dies horam
Ovidii Nasonis Amores I,5

(quoted from memory, might not be the correct word order)

This is what springs to mind, hora media.

Meridiē came to my mind as well--a prepositionless ablative expressing time when/within which.
