πᾶ (ποῦ)

Archimedes is said to have said,

δός μοι πᾶ(ποῦ) στῶ καὶ τὰν γᾶν κινάσω.
give me where I should stand, and I will move the earth.

My question here: πᾶ (or ποῦ in other source) is interrogative adverb. But the context suggests it is used as a relative adverb, which I think should be οὗ or ἔνθα here. Am I being too strict on rules, or am I missing something?

I would say this is a case of an indirect question, such as:

she asked me who called

he told me where to put it

in such instances, the interrogative pronoun introduces a whole clause, which could be otherwise taken separately as a simple question.

in my opinon, if we consider pa stw as being an indirect question, this should remove a grerat deal of the grammatic awkwardness.
