Oh my gosh!

Post by Deudeditus »

My band had a show on saturday and it wasn't that good, so I went back to our practice pad and got bloody drunk. not the most responsible thing to do, but hey, I didn't drive. I don't usually get drunk, so I don't think I handled it very well. after i-dont-know-how-many urine-tasting beers and some guinness (and much, much more came after, I'm sure.) I stopped remembering things. That wouldn't be that bad, certainly not worth dedicating a new topic about. but it gets worse... when I woke up, my arm hurt and when I looked down, I saw the word MALVS carved  into my arm (i found my ka-bar near the place I woke up with blood on the tip and blood on my deditos, so I'm assumming it was carved.. it's certainly ugly enough), on the inside of my left bicep (it would have been funnier had I carved SINISTER or MALVM=apple.haha.) I thought 'what the hell? this is horrible!' but the worst part is that i rubbed calligraphy ink into it (or, at least I think I did, owing to the spilled bottle of it and inky fountain pen on the floor near to where I woke up... there was no ink on my hands so I think I wrote on it with the pen.). ridiculous... never drinking again... Noone remembers me doing this to myself.

I hope the ink washes out or something. I'm marked now. AAARRRGGGHH!!!  :x

 - Jon the Apple

not that i ever would poison myself to such an extent, but if i ever were compelled to write some word upon myself it would have to be "QVIBVS" yes Deu you should have written QVIBVS

i very seldom drink alcohol after a few enlightening incidents many years ago in the pre latin days, and the last time i did i felt this girl's leg who had hair on her face. her FACE. welsh valley pubs are places i used to frequent, but now which i like to avoid since i prefer green fields and old architechture.

You ol' Gothic softy, Epi.

Your tale, Jon, is both harrowing and hilarious. I voted MALVM because it also means "damnit!" which I think fits your frame of mind when first witnessing the cutical inscription. I do hope your inebriated attempt at tatooing won't leave you permanently scarred. Lotsa Neosporin.

Alternatively, should you not succeed to that end, then, depending on the diminution of your spearment stalk, shall we say, the comparison to a ship's mast may serve as an effective advertisement.

The google ads on this thread are trying to sell me fancy fountain pens. I find that amusing, considering the dark, grim subject of this thread :P

took me a while to figure out what you were trying to say and why you were talking about mint. just for clarification and since I don't have a macronshowing dictionary with me; does malus=mast have a long a?

well, my MALVS (I've named it, see...) still as strong as ever (not my MALVS, but my scrawlings ). TETANVS is kind of a concern, but so far I haven't been to the doctor's. Don't think my arm's going to fall off, though. I might post some pics.

why, Epi, would you carve QVIBVS?

That's right. Tattoos never look better than just after they're done.

I vote for UMERUS.

Look on the bright side, though, it could have been a lot worse. Imagine if it was on your forehead. Or on someone else, god forbid. (Have you inspected your drinking buddies, for any additional vocabulary?)

If we ever get t-shirts, we can consider getting long sleeves. :)

well this is the iniuria corpori I have sustained. it's not that big, for which I am thankful, but it's ugly, which is fitting  :) , and red. probably a bit infected, but I've had worse. I'm apparently the only one with such scrawling.

It doesn't look bad. I guess the redness of the wound will disappear over time. I would have gone to the doctor's, maybe the can give some advice.
