Homeric Scholia: Erbse vs Nicole

I noticed today that Erbse combines the Venetus A and Genevensis scholia in the case below. My question is, why would he do that?

Erbse (Scholia A and Ge) :

Ariston.
οὐδὲ βαθυρρείταο <μέγα σθένος Ὠκεανοῖο>: ὅτι
Ζηνόδοτος αὐτὸν οὐκ ἔγραφεν· γίνεται γὰρ ὁ Ἀχελῷος πηγὴ τῶν
ἄλλων πάντων. ἔστι δὲ καθ’ Ὅμηρον ὁ Ὠκεανὸς ὁ ἐπιδιδοὺς πᾶσι τὰ

Why? To avoid excessive duplication. They’re really one and the same note.
