I wonder if they will use historically correct pronunciation or Italianate?

Re: Ab urbe condita...
Like Matteo Rovere's film il Primo Re, which came out earlier this year (at least here in Italy), this series will be in proto-Latin.
For the movie Rovere had a team from Sapienza Roma translate his script into a form of archaic Latin in order to accurately present the language spoken half a millennium before our earliest literary works. They also guided the pronunciation which naturally leaned more towards our Classical one. A photograph of about half a page of the screenplay is floating around on the net somewhere, I tried to find it again but with little success.
Had things like "ubi eyat", "saga esat", and "fuid sakrom egnim."
So to answer your question, neither.
I enjoyed the film and so I'm hoping this series will have the same eye for detail. It was fun when the Latin was at times clear enough to understand.
