I'm skeptical of most archeological "finds". I know the ark existed due to the reliability of ancient documents (i.e. Genesis)
There have been some good finds. I'm not casting out archeological work, but there are some real fruits out there.

i'm not sure who was modelled on whom; Ron Wyatt on Indiana Jones or Jones on Wyatt.

and I agree with you that the evidence must stand up to the test.
