Before this community I confess my error; that I have never read any Diskworld book with the Witches; that I will earnestly work to correct my ways and follow the straight path.

Not the wicked witch, certainly.

I have a very hard time deciding between her and Nanny Ogg. I have a fondness for Margat, since she is (distressingly) most like me of the three.

Ok, I confess that I have never heard of Discworld. What can you tell us about this book (or series of books)? In my readings, the last series of books that had witches in it was C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I read these about 20+ years ago, but I recall that I did enjoy them. How does your book compare to C.S. Lewis?

well, I believe C.S. Lewis is the only story I've ever read that had witches in it. I wasn't trying offend anyone by asking if the two stories were similar. However, thank you for the link. It answered my question.

If I could have the caustic wit of Granny Weatherwax and the sexual exploits of Nanny Ogg, I would be in Witchy paradise. But Granny rules! "I don't hold with school -- gets in the way of education."
