Frater Felix: A surprising purchase

Post by Carolus Raeticus » Sat May 11, 2019 5:12 pm

Salvete,

I am just reading the second volume of Frater Felix Fabri's "Evagatorium". He and his fellow pilgrims are in Gaza and now make some final purchases for a journey through the desert. I was quite astounded by one specific item on their list...
Fr. Felix Fabri wrote: Quinta die mane ante lucem recesserunt Mamalucci a Gazara, sed tamen
desertum noctis horas nobis indiceret. [...]
I can't say that that would have been my priority purchase.

Valete,

Carolus Raeticus

I imagine they had no watches at that time.

Apparently their purchases didn't entitle them to the free alarm clock radio.
