Not my usual gig but I'd like to thank you for this one. Putnam's work on the Aeneid is some of my favourite - (I hope my own teachers will forgive me for saying that) - and it was particularly heartening to hear he "changed [his] undergraduate major from mathematics to classics," as I did the same.
