Suppose you want to ask how someone he travelled here (means of transport).
As in by foot, horse, wagon, boat. winged sandals, Daedalus' wings, Pegasus, (or even bicycle, or airplane today).
Maybe it's not a question Romans asked?

Re: Question Mode of Transport
Vehī + ablative of means. Vehere (active) means "convey, transport." In the passive "be conveyed or transported by," but is usually translated by however we say it idiomatically in the receptor language.
Equō ad oppidum vehor, lit. "I am being conveyed by horse to the town" but better "I am riding a horse to town" or variations thereof.
Nāve ad patriam meam vehor, "I'm traveling by ship to my country" or "I'm sailing to my country..."
