NEED HELP!

can someone help me to translate this in latin.

"I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become"

when I try google translate im not sure if its the correct latin translation.
I am trying to have this tattoed on me.thanks

That appears to be a fake Carl Jung quote. Latin is clearly the proper language for a tattoo though. From a recent Laudator Temporis Acti:

UK model Danielle Lloyd had the words 'Quis Attero Mihi Tantum Planto Mihi Validus' tattooed on herself. Maybe she came up with it by copying the words from a dictionary?

I suspect Google Translate was enough for the lady.

Why not get it tattooed in English?

latin is more sophisticated than english especially if it comes to tattoo. that is why if i can have it tattooed on me it should be in latin :)

As it happens I met a some friends for some food before a concert given by the Bach Collegium Japan on Saturday. Just after we left the restaurant I saw this graffito " Animum debes mutare, non caelum." Perhaps this would be a more fitting tattoo? It was written by an excellent writer.

ipse me ipsum facio, literally "(I my)self make myself", might work, if you're male, as I guess with that name you are. But if female, ipsa me ipsam facio.

Or if you have to be more literal:
ego non sum ea quae passus sum. id quod mi placet fieri, hoc ego.

Now what’s it worth to you to know whether this really says what you want it to?
