From I Samuel 1:18:

et illa dixit utinam inveniat ancilla tua gratiam in oculis tuis et abiit mulier in viam suam et comedit vultusque eius non sunt amplius in diversa mutati

and she said: "if only your handmaid would find grace in your eye, and this woman had gone her way and eaten and her face is not bigger in ???????"

what does "in diversa mutati" mean?

... non sunt mutati amplius in diversa

One comment: the quotation marks should end after tuis. Like so:

et illa dixit, "utinam inveniat ancilla tua gratiam in oculis tuis" et abiit mulier in viam suam et comedit vultusque eius non sunt amplius in diversa mutati

Probably you already guessed that the rest of the sentence is not what the woman says but rather what she does after she finishes talking. I just wanted to make sure.

Yeah, thanx, I got it. The punctuation of the sentences in Vulgate can be really tricky...

There are editions of the Vulgate with punctuation. I have one of those - well, it's only the New Testament, but still! It's awfully nice to have a bit of help.

Of course, you could always refer to a Bible to confirm your punctuation.
